SiteStudio Project
"Our mission is to build relationships with community youth in various neighborhood locations, while providing exploration and application of the arts to nurture creativity and self-confidence through artistic expression"
SiteStudio originally started as an after-school program initiated by Professor Margaret Vega (Kendall College of Art & Design) to provide art classes to the youth in the community. The program was founded in the spring of 2014 to address the lack of artistic opportunities for students in Grand Rapids. Each semester, volunteers from Kendall College of Art & Design visit a location in the Grandville Avenue neighborhood to interact with the youth and to serve as mentors.
